Literacy Programme

This is a supplementary education project in formal and non-formal techniques using many of the tools from the rich world of performing arts for slum children of Tangra, Kolkata. At present 'HRIDAYA AKASH' is operating in three educational centres for education and all round growth of slum children.

Training in performing and allied arts

Acting, recitation, mime, dance, song, music, puppetry, mask making, painting, mimicry, magic, ventriloquism, painting, clay modelling etc. Children are also encouraged in creative writing, i.e, short story , poetry, rhymes, essays in their different personal experiences. This training is enriching their life through these creative activities.

Computer Training

In this the children are getting computer education. Due to universal use of computer in every sphere of our activity, knowledge of computer operation is essential. With the financial support of our patron, computer education programme is going on now.

Vocational Training programme

This is mainly for school drop outs. For different reasons including economical problem, many children drop in their school education. At present Hridaya Akash started vocational training for this school drop outs in 'General electricity and light designing for performing arts' and 'Silk Screen Printing'.

Medical Services

This is a regular health check up Programmes for the children and their family members in free Homoeopathic treatment centre.

Awareness & Educational programme on different social problems

Time to time children take part in awareness and educational shows on different social problems- Abuse of alcohol, drugs & narcotics, atrocities on women, etc.

Cultural Programmes

Children take part in cultural programmes for teachers, friends, well-wishers, guardians and for other organizations.
